Get to know us!

Welcome to Rogan Canine Services! My name is Hannah. I've always had a passion for animals and a drive to ensure they get the most out of life, and that doesn't just stop with my own dogs that extends into my clients dogs too. My business name was inspired by my 2 dogs I shared life with at the time of starting the business, Logan and Rosie, pictured to the right.

I'm a firm believer in allowing dogs to be dogs. I provide a safe environment and the opportunity for them to engage in activities that come natural to them, to ensure they're not only physically stimulated but also mentally stimulated too and can go home a happy fulfilled dog. Whether that be digging in the woods, playing chase with their friends, playing in puddles, doing zoomies through the trees or of course lots of sniffing and interacting with the environment, our walks offer it all. Whatever their favourite activity whilst out with us, rest assured they come home clean, dry and super sleepy after their adventures!

My own 2 dogs, Buddy (Black Labrador) and Ember (Red Labrador), are always out with us. Buddy being a laid back, gentle boy providing a safe space for nervous dogs to shadow, gain confidence and explore at a slower pace. Ember being a happy little ray of sunshine, also providing a safe space for dogs to shadow and gain confidence but also have a friend to whizz through the woods with.

As much as interacting with friends is a part of our walks, independently exploring is also a huge part and I encourage lots of neutrality within the dogs in the group to prevent the possibility of reactivity or over stimulation. Not only neutrality within the group but also anybody or anything we may come across whilst out in the woods whether that be other dogs, people, cyclists, livestock etc they are all taught to be respectful of them all to ensure the safety of everybody.

I upload lots of videos of walks onto my Facebook and instagram page story so you can see what they get up to whilst out with us, get to know their friends and have a peak into the side of their life you can't share with them. As well as the videos, I upload photos weekly. My clients absolutely love this and always look forward to getting to see them. Head over to the gallery to see some photos and videos taken on our walks!

I have a van with custom made, crash tested cages and I don't cage share for dogs from separate households to ensure comfortable and safe travelling. The cages also have a divider between them all so they can't see each other, for the dogs that may feel vulnerable being in an enclosed space and close proximity of the other dogs with no escape so they start the walk stress free. My van also has air con and a good heating system to ensure the correct temperature whatever the weather!

For the dogs that prefer more 1-2-1 care, we offer 30 minute solo walks. We also offer cat visits so if you're going away on holiday and need a reliable, experienced professional we can also help you out with that!

If you have any further questions that haven't already been answered, please feel free to contact me for a friendly no obligation chat. Or equally, if we sound like the perfect match for you please get in touch to arrange your free meet and greet!

What Our Clients Say

Friendly, reliable, knowledgable service. Amazing photos and videos!
Hannah has taken my boy Diego out since September last year and it’s honestly the best decision I could have made! I was a little bit nervous about the prospect of a dog walker, as at the time my dog was just a young puppy, but Hannah quickly bonded with him after the initial visit and a few one to one walks to get him used to her. Really professional and could not recommend her enough. He has walks with several other dogs on different days, and he is becoming really neutral with other dogs because of this and the support Hannah is giving with his training. He is always happy to go and sleeps straight after getting back! The photos and videos each week are a bonus too! Highly recommend x

Hannah has been absolutely fantastic with my Frenchie Henry. He loves his walks with Hannah and is excited to go with her. She has helped his confidence with other dogs and can now go on a group doggie walk. She is a lovely person, so friendly and caring. We definitely recommend Rogan Canine Services.

Hannah is a great dog walker, I can not recommend her enough. I have a rescue dog that was shy and could be a bit snappy towards other dogs if she was nervous, Hannah has worked so hard with her and shes out on group walks playing with the other dogs now. My dog is ALWAYS worn out following her walks. Also Hannah also takes amazing photos of the dogs on their walk and sends you videos.

FAQ

Any questions not answered here, please feel free to message!

How long are the dogs walked for?

The hour walk time doesn't start until everybody is out of the van and into the woods, so they get the full hour of walking. I am also very well known for getting carried away and ending up exploring for even longer when my schedule allows us!

Are your walks just a free for all?

Absolutely not. As much as I allow the dogs to be dogs, there is still always structure within the group. The dogs that don't want to be bothered and want to do their own thing are allowed to do just that, and it is always respected by the other dogs. I will always advocate for each dog within the group to ensure everybody is happy, comfortable and getting what they want out of the walk. I also always recall and put every body back on lead when passing other people/dogs etc.

How many dogs are on your group walks?

The group sizes are a maximum of 6 dogs. As mentioned earlier, at least 1 or 2 of those dogs are my own who are trained to a high standard and also help me train the other dogs within the group. Behaviours to include recall, voluntary check ins, staying close, respectful to all in the group and whoever we may come across whilst out, neutrality and over all confidence. So many of my clients comment on how their dogs behaviours and confidence changes for the better after coming out on walks with us.

What area do you cover?

Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Ladybrook, Berry Hill and surrounding areas. If you're not sure if we cover your post code, drop us a message!

How do you transport the dogs?

My van is kitted out with custom made, crash tested cages. I also don't cage share with dogs from separate households to ensure complete safety during travelling. There is also dividers between the cages so the dogs cant see each other whilst travelling, because being in an enclosed space with other dogs and no escape can be really daunting for some dogs, so this ensures the dogs are happy and comfortable starting and finishing the walk with no stress. My van also has air con and a good heating system to ensure the dogs are always at a comfortable, safe temperature whatever the weather.

Are you insured?

Of course! Fully insured and more than happy to show proof for peace of mind.

Are you experienced and confident with big breeds?

Absolutely. Having owned and trained larger working dogs as well as working with lots over the years I have gained invaluable experience, including how to work with a range of different quirks. I am also always furthering my education and experience in training dogs so rest assured there is no behaviour problem I'm shy of or not happy to work with!

Do all the dogs go off lead?

I am very strict about who I let off lead. When a dog first starts with us they will be on a longline for training and relationship building until they have proven their 100% recall under all distractions to keep everybody safe. This also ensures I have a solid relationship with the dog for when they are ready to be off lead so in the event of them being unsure of something instead of potentially running away they will come to me for reassurance and guidance.

Do you have a plan in place in the event of an emergency?

When i come over to do the meet and greet, there is a section on the registration forms to discuss your dogs registered vet and their address. In the event of an emergency first and second emergency contact will be contacted to explain the situation and the dog will be taken straight to the vets by myself. However, rest assured in all my years doing this job that has never happened due to the safety measures and structure I have in place. But on the off chance it does, everything is in hand.

Where do you get your pricing from?

You may hear my prices and think, thats a lot! But you're not only getting the best walk for your dog. You're getting training, photos, videos, reliability, peace of mind that in the event of an emergency everything is taken care of, years of experience, the security that your dog is in safe hands, 24/7 support whether it be behavioural/training advice or a last minute booking, a walker that truly cares about your dogs mental and physical wellbeing just as much as you, a walker that gets to know your dog so well that I notice the slightest behaviour change that may indicate pain or a possible health issue, a walker that you can have full trust in always keeping you in the loop of anything important you may need to know about your dog, no secrets here! When done correctly this job isn't "just walking some dogs" it takes commitment, hard work, passion, education and a whole lot of love!
